POP Montreal has begun!

The madness has begun! POP Montreal usually signifies the beginning of the autumn/holidays craziness for us. First off we actually scheduled our Oct. art opening to NOT be this weekend (it's next weekend if you're wondering), since there is just too much great stuff to do that's related to the POP Montreal festival. If you're interested in seeing some awesome music/films/workshops/art/crafts, check out the website for listings, etc.

First off Art POP offers you a whole slew of exhibitions, live drawings sessions, film screenings and sooooo much more. Click on the "Art POP" link for a schedule.

Secondly Kids POP is something that's fairly new to me, but turns out I'm doing a workshop on Sunday showing kids how to recycle old clothing into stuffed toys, soooo fun! All the workshops are this Saturday and Sunday and take place at École Lambert-Closse, Mile End (corner of Bernard and St. Urbain). For all the info, click on the "Kids POP" link up there.

Thirdly Film POP will blow your mind clear away with all the great events it's offering this year. Check out the Fugazi documentary "Instrument" or check out a few shorts. Click on the "Film POP" link for a full listing of events.

And last but certainly not least (for us certainly..) is Puces POP! Just in case you haven't been before, Puces POP is a 2 day handmade marketplace, where all your local (and not so local) crafters, designers and screenprinters sell their wares. This is the 4th Puces POP we've taken part in and I've been sewing my butt off getting stuff ready. Tyson will be down at the store on Saturday, while I'll be at the sale, then Sunday Tyson will be manning the booth, while I'm over at the school teaching the kiddies all about recycling.

The Puces POP marketplace takes place at St. Michel Church Hall (105 St. Viateur West) this Saturday and Sunday from 11am-7pm.

There are also workshops taking place throughout the weekend, check the online schedule for all the details. ALSO tonight (Thursday) Puces POP is holding a new designers fashion show, the culmination of a competition where the winning designer will take home $2000!! Check it out tonight at 6pm at Club CODA, 4119 St. Laurent.

Hey Angie,
Did you make it out to the fashion show last night? I was too busy backstage to notice who was there!

Ugh, no, I wish I could have! I had a bunch of custom orders to finish up, and then work for Puces POP. This happens every year, I have to work so hard making stuff for Puces that I miss all the other POP stuff!! Argh!
